Brunswick & Florida
BRUNSWICK & FLORIDA STEAM BOAT & STAGE LINE (LATE 1830’s TO 1840’s)
These notes functioned both as tickets and currency at any of the company offices. As tickets they were good for a seat on a specific trip between Charleston and Mobile (or between Mobile and Charleston) via Apalachicola, St. Joseph, St. Marks, Tallahassee and Pensacola. Other notes were issued as scrip and not tickets with denominations of 12 1/2 cents to $3 and show Baltimore as the place of issue but were redeemable at any of the offices listed above. All of the notes are very rare and often attributed to Maryland.
